I stayed for a little over 2 weeks using the home stay which was convenient
It took a few days to workout where the greatest need was as their wasn’t much direction given and staff dont ask for help. With the help of another volunteer we created a volunteer suggestion board for future volunteers so they can understand where help is needed. The
I had a wonderful time here in Mbale in Feb-April 2016. I taught English to Primary classes 6 and 7 at the Namakwekwe school. It was a great experience.
Mbale is a great town of a good size with a supermarket, lots of bars and restaurants, resorts with pools that you can swim at and a beautiful mountain to climb (you should climb it!!). There
I can tell that I was very lucky with the people I’ve met there. Great ugandans – hard workers with a big heart!!

The work sometimes can be heavy or light, here or there. Every day is different then is difficult to explain with few words, but the project has place to everybody and new ideas.

In November/December 2015, I spent 3 weeks in this project together with my friend Ines. Abraham has a great vision which is, in my opinion, worth to be supported. He is a caring and reliable person and wants every volunteer to be happy.
Our weeks here were very impressive. The kids are lovely, full of joy and energy. They are happy to see you every single day. Most of the teachers are very strict. The kids have long days from 07.00 until 05.00 pm. We helped them taking exams. Our last day was the best” full of dancing and singing. Thy have a lot of talent!
